Happy First Father's Day!

Here is the shirt Colton got his Poppa for Father's Day! Cute because you rarely find shirts that say anything but Dad and also cute because it looks like root beer, which is the only 'pop' Justin drinks AND Justin calls carbonated beverages 'pop' (Brigette calls them 'soda').

We didn't do much but hang around the house on Father's day, but that is good too! We went to dinner at Ted's Montana Grill on Saturday and had a good time as it is one of the few places we eat out. While at dinner, we let Colton drink some water out of a cup, which he has done many times. Usually he chews on the cup, drinks a little then starts letting it just dribble out of his mouth. This time at dinner he started letting it fall out of his mouth and then cracking up like it was all so hysterical. Of course, that got us all crackingup too which started a vicious cycle. At least we were entertained!!

UPDATES:

Check out Colton's latest professional photos:

Colton has been pointing at everything and everyone these days. He likes to go for a tour of the house and points to the items he would like to be included in the tour. He gets a bit annoyed if you cut the tour short also. :-) He LOVES chimes and requests for any in the area to be rung when he is around, more than once usually. He has memorized where they are at home and Brigette's parents' house and has such fun hearing the chimes ring.

Here are a few cute videos. The first is from our trip to Indiana. That weekend he started making this wacky noise that we called his 'ambulance' song. He did it all that weekend and has hardly done it since. It had two versions, this fun one and a not so happy one. The second video is just fun eating finger foods.

Colton thought this was SUPER FUN!! He is a bit too little to do this for very long, not to mention that he wanted to throw Justin's hat on the floor.

Not the best picture but it was surprisingly a bit cool the other night and we had the car windows down and Colton really enjoyed the wind whiping through his hair. He also looks like he is a bald man with a comb over that is blowing around now! :-)

Next week is Colton's BIRTHDAY!! He will be ONE YEAR OLD already!! So hard to believe we are already to this milestone!! It has gone by so fast. Looking back on pictures of him from last summer it is so hard to believe he was so tiny and now he seems giant and is so amazing. We have certainly been blessed this past year!

Finally, an update! 10+ months old!!

Well, actually almost 11 months now but I plan on updating more frequently as we FINALLY have high speed internet at home this week! Whoo hoo! I won't know what to do with myself and Justin will finally be able to see the videos people send him! :-) Colton could care less at this time about our internet speed.

Wow! So many new and amazing things in the past two months! On his 9 month birthday Colton finally figured out how to crawl forward (see video below) and has been flying non-stop since then! He is into everything and is fast as lightning! It is so funny how he can find the one thing in the room that you don't want him to touch, despite the tons of other things you would be fine with him getting into! Certainly keeps us on our toes and making sure we are keeping up with vacuuming and sweeping as he will find any little thing on the floor and usually will try to eat it! He definitely inherited Justin's eagle eye vision!

In his 9th month he also figured out how to point at people and thinks it is hilarious and does it all the time. Well, it is pretty funny! Sometimes he points his finger up, like he is warning you and then he extends his arm and points at you like he is getting after you. It is very entertaining and Justin and Colton point back and forth at each other all day. :-)

Around the same time as the pointing started, Colton also started waving good bye! SO CUTE!! He actually has three different waves, which is very interesting too! He does the classic hand opening and closing towards himself, but also alternates doing it facing out AND waving his hand side to side. So adorable! And he enjoys waving at people at the daycare or at the store with his super cute grin, which everyone, of course, loves! Will try to get a photo/video of that. Colton also has TWO teeth!! Hard to get in a picture but they are cute and we will try!

Colton is also pulling up on everything and 'cruising' around furniture, people, the bath tub. Should be off and walking any day now!

Here are a slew of photos from the last two months:

First car show! VERY excited!

Fun in the backyard while the parents work!

The not so fun stuff is that he has taken to throwing himself back and crying when you take away a toy or try to put him down when he doesn't want you to do so, and that has been less than adorable and fun but...at least he isn't old enough to tell us what he thinks of us! We have also been having some nursing issues but mostly at night and I can tough it out for a few more months.

The other not so fun stuff has been illnesses. In the past two months, Colton has had croup, bronchitis, double ear infections (two different kinds!), and a horrific diaper rashed caused by the medication for the ear infections AND he is coughing again. We are using the nebulizer again (which he HATES) and hopefully can avoid another round of antibiotics. If he is getting any benefits from breast feeding for his health, I cannot imagine what it would be like if he wasn't nursing! Then Brigette had bronchitis and lost her voice (ha ha) and then Justin also was recently sick with a cough. Why does the nebulizer have a funny face on the outside? He can't see how silly he looks!

More to come soon!! Road trip to Katie's wedding in IN, standing up, and more fun with Baby Y! He is almost 1 year old!! We can't hardly believe it! He is such a joy and blessing in our life and we are thankful for him every day.
