Sharing our secret

The word is out! We have finally told our families. I actually told people at work and my Bunco group before our families!! No one can believe we kept the secret for so long. It was just too close to Christmas to not wait. Justin also told several customers who always ask him about having kids when he goes to their homes. Thankfully they didn't tell anyone at the office.

At work, we had a holiday unit meeting at a supervisor's house on 12/18 for the people in my section. We usually play a triva game, trying to guess who the trivia is about. When it came to my trivia, "This person is pregnant," I played along and guessed people also. It was fun when someone finally guessed me! One of my sweet co-workers was worried the supervisor in charge was outing someone's secret and kept asking, "Are you allowed to be doing this?!" It was pretty funny.

The Y Family Reveal:
We celebrated Christmas with Justin's family on Sunday 12/21. I hid a gift and after everyone opened gifts (which took forever with so many people), I got out the hidden gift and gave it to Justin's dad to open and told everyone to come see his gift. Here is the great video:

The L Family Reveal:
We didn't tell Brigette's parents until Christmas morning. We spent the night at their house Christmas Eve, went to Midnight church service, slept in and had a good time. We even made our first batch of Hooiser Goodies-Thanks for the help Melanie, they were perfect!!


Again, we opened all our lovely gifts and held the last present for the very end to have Brigette's parents open together. Here is the classic, "What the heck is this about?" video:

Big News!!

In case you couldn't tell from the web address...we are expecting our first child!! After enjoying our first 6 married years alone, we decided to increase the fun and have been blessed with baby on the way!! Expected arrival date is July 2, 2009 (but we are hoping for the 4th as we both have birthdays and anniversaries on the 4th of several months).

We officially found out on 11/12, althought we really knew before then. Justin got a test and I took it the morning of the 12th.

The results were very clear but it took Justin a few minutes to understand the complicated code, "I don't understand." :-) It was pretty early in the morning! Picture is not that great, but you get the idea.

We decided to wait to tell our family, and most people, until Christmas. What could be a more fun gift? It was still pretty early and we wanted to wait til we knew things were probably going well. Christmas would be the beginning of my 13th week, or the start of my second trimester. I ordered some great gifts for our families to help them figure out the big secret.
