Weird stuff

Post Pregnancy Hair Loss?!!

I had never heard of such a thing but after raking the carpet at home and seeing what looked like small dead animals in the sink after brushing my hair or taking a shower, I decided to do a quick internet search to see if I had some crazy illness or something. While it isn't as bad as the picture above, it is still A LOT of hair. It is on everything in the house, all over my clothes and everytime I touch my hair some comes out in my hand. Doesn't help that my hair is really long also!

Apparently, while pregnant your body holds on to everything, including your hair. So even though we normally shed hair on a daily basis, you do not while pregnant. Then, about 4 months after pregnancy, when your hormones are leveling out, you start to lose ALL the hair you should have lost during pregnancy, plus whatever you would lose normally. Now, I have really think hair anyhow, so it is not noticable that I am losing hair but I have read about lots of women who get bald patches!! The good news is that the hair loss eventually subsides and goes back to normal. Until then, make sure you wear socks around my house or you might get creeped out by an attacking wild hair!

I joke that I could make a coat with all the hair I have lost, and did find some items on the internet that were knitted with human hair, but they were pretty icky so I decided to leave that image off. :-)

On a better note, Colton is doing super and is super adorable. :-) He still is congested and still coughing some. Can't give him anything really so just hoping it works out soon. Brigette has been a single parent this week while Justin and family went hunting in Texas. She rarely made it to daycare on time in the morning (usually she feeds Colton before work and puts him back to bed and Justin takes him) but oh well. More time with Mummy!! Brigette's mother also helped out a lot and picked him up early 2 days so he would not be there for so long and he certainly enjoyed that! Brigette surely is appreciative that Justin is such a good Poppa and it will be so wonderful when he is home again!
