BIG NEWS!
So for a few weeks we have seen a step here, a step there but usually he has been more interested in LEAPING towards you and laughing. And as I was writing this blog this week, that was still the case but this morning Colton decided to try out WALKING!! Two steps, three steps, then we caught this on camera, just in time!!
Stretching between things, before going out on his own:
If you hadn't noticed, we LOVE hats and we LOVE to put Colton in them whenever we go out and everyone else seems to enjoy them too (especially the people at daycare and the doctor's office). When you put his hat on he thinks we are going somewhere and wants to go outside right away (which makes it hard to get photos of his cute outfits sometimes, doesn't he understand?!). :-)

Colton still LOVES bath time! He loves his water toys and splashing, throwing water (he tried to pick up the water recently and throw it at Brigette who was outside the tub; she did get wet and we all thought it was pretty hysterical!).
Getting the bubbles:
THOSE EYES!! Ahhh!
Dancing!
Colton loves to dance!! He loves music and likes to 'shake it' whenever he can. It can be toys that make music, tv, singing parents, whatever. We turn on the radio a lot when he is eating and he loves that. He waves his arms and legs and even twists back and forth sometimes.
This video is pretty dark so hope you can see the dancing, as it was so cute. Getting him started early on good classic rock.

Doing pretty good drinking from sippy cup. We are starting to send one to school and try to put his milk in the sippy rather than the bottle. He also likes to drink from a cup (preferably the one you are drinking from) but tends to drink too much or just let the water all run out of his mouth for the fun of it all.
Hmm, what do you have up there Poppa?

We are still working on finger foods. He has loved his organic puffs forever and now loves these yogurt freeze dried things (actually Mum and Poppa like them too!). He will also eat raisins and cheese but doesn't do too well with much else like cooked veggies. Sometimes he will eat a few but usually enjoys the squishy factor much more than eating.
Colton will eat cheese over anything else on his tray! Well, he IS Brigette's child, so no one should be shocked. If you give him cheese and puffs, he will dig around and pick out all of the cheese and want more (ignoring the normally well-loved puffs). He is also usually double-fisting the cheese into his mouth!
Fun with my finger foods:
Animals
Here are some fun pictures from Cousin Katy Grace's birthday at the horse farm. They all had a great time with the animals!
Birthday hugs!!

Animals at facility are rescued, like this poor dwarf horse, who has numerous medical issues.
You certainly couldn't pick Poppa out of line up, could you?
Same with Cousin Charlotte and her dad!
Funny Faces:
He likes to lock the front door and sometimes actually does the deadbolt correctly. When we get up in the early morning and Colton wants to nurse but Brigette stops at the bathroom to get some water, Colton will holler and pull on the door frame to try to pull them out of the bathroom! He will also point to the living room and then to the area of the couch where they usually sit, telling her exactly where he wants to go. It is pretty funny.
We are planning our annual trip to Yellowstone for next month and we are SO excited!! We can't wait to take Colton for the first time and see him experience the fun and seeing animals (especially the Elk in Mammoth Hot Springs)!
Well, you can't blame the poor child when he has 4 upper teeth and his molars all coming in at the same time that he is a little cranky in the middle of the night, but for a while, he still thought he should get a meal about 3 am...Thankfully we seem to have finally moved on from that. Colton usually goes to bed between 7:30-8 pm and sleeps until somewhere between 5:30-7:30 am. Sometimes he will go back to sleep if he eats before 7 and sometimes he won't. Now if Brigette could just get to bed before 11 or 12 we'd be golden.
Facing Forward
Well, Colton is finally just over 20 lbs (10th percentile and is at 25th percentile for height). so we can sit forward facing in the car. Course, not sure how to deal with the droopy head when he falls asleep, it looks so uncomfortable!

Poppa just loves when his shoelaces are messed up, let me just help him out (by the way, Colton is always trying to put things behind his head like this, crazy baby!).
Wacky way Colton puts his foot and hand on my chest when he is nursing/falls asleep!
Having fun with his baby 4-WHEELER! Thanks Auntie Celestia and Uncle Ryan:
Hope you are all well! Drop us a message when you can, we love to read them (if anyone is still out there checking in).

That is hilarious that he puts his foot up on you like that when he's nursing. Very sweet. :) Enjoy this sweetness, cause when they turn 3, let me tell ya- it's a whole different story! :)
By the way, I really see you in the picture of him with daddy- the one with the orange hat and tractor overalls! Very cute!
